| 2006 | | (And What We Liked But Failed To Blog) | | 01 January 2007 | | We liked a lot of things in 2006... these are the ones we miserably failed to blog.
Album La Oreja de van Gough - Guappa Our mp3 player thinks this is our favorite album ever, and it is probably right. Soaring tunes and deeply sad lyrics make for a powerful combination; and the fact that it didn't pick up as many Latin Grammies as Shakira's Ficcaion Oral just shows those awards up for the farce that they are. Movie Curious George The only movie we saw in the cinema this year - our three-year-old loved it, and so did we - a children's film like they used to make them, with no adult jokes or fart gags - just a simple story about a very sweet monkey and his quest for friendship! TV Show Grey's Anatomy Gripping medical drama-soap, on a par with the early years of ER. The double-episode with Cristina Ricci and the unexploded device left us shell-shocked, and deeply regretting missing most of the first season. Game Wii Sports We'll probably blog the Wii sometime in 2007, but in the meantime we're busy hitting a tennis back and forth, in the most playable computer game since Pong. Yes, the players have only one arm; and no, you can't be Rafael Nadal... but when it is this much fun, who cares! Book Richard Dawkins - The God Delusion Actually, this is the only book we've read this year, and it is far from perfect - Dawkins seems to feel the need to prove that Jesus (the man) did not exist, which seems to us to be both intellectually irrelevant and historically wrong. But we'd still recommend it for giving us some insight into things we'd long-believed but never really rationalized. |

The point is we are all connected... through love... through loneliness... through one lamentable lapse in judgment!
